Whiteroom Kiroro

Whiteroom Tours is proud to announce that we are now the official in house guiding partner of Kiroro Resort!!

Come ski or ride at one of the snowiest places on Earth. With an average seasonal snowfall of 20 metres, Kiroro offers up unlimited fresh turns nearly every day. Situated West of Sapporo and overlooking the Sea Of Japan, Kiroro lies in the perfect location to pick up the regular snow storms rolling in from Siberia.

Whiteroom Kiroro offers priority lift access to Kiroro’s famed backcountry.

Our in house guiding team at Whiteroom Kiroro have the knowledge and experience to get the most out of your time in Kiroro. We have spent years finding the best lines to ski whether it’s lift accessed backcountry stashes you want or you wish to get out for a days hiking to earn your turns we will have you covered.

As the official guiding partners of Kiroro Resort, we can guarantee that you will get to the snow quicker and find the best conditions from early morning. From wide open bowls to perfectly spaced beech trees the Kiroro backcountry has plenty to offer. Topping out on Mt Yoichi allows you long steep terrain that is not to be missed. Whilst the lift accessed backcountry lets you get multiple powder laps in a day.

Outside of our base at Kiroro the Whiteroom team will be able to take you on new experiences at the other local snow meccas. Our guides have a strong background at all the Hokkaido resorts including all the local area such as, Niseko, Mowia, Rustusu, Sapporo Kokasai and Teine. This makes Kiroro Resort an ideal venue to base your trip so you can take advantage of all Hokkaido has to offer.

The flexibility in our guided days lets you choose between a private day with you and up to six friends with one guide or if travelling in a smaller group joining up with one of the mixed groups to get some turns in.

Pre-booking is available now through whiteroomtours.com, or from Dec 15th through our Niseko office located next to Half Note Bar in Hirafu or our Whiteroom Kiroro office located in the Mountain Club Lounge in Kiroro Resort.

To maximise your days turns, join the Whiteroom Guides for laps on the ungroomed inbounds powder zones and lift accessed backcountry. With plenty to offer right from the top lift station our guides can lead you through the access gates into some perfect untouched powder. No hiking required but soft snow and quick access using the Kiroro lift system.

Focusing on two main zones our guides will be able to get you out beyond the resort boundary to escape the crowds. Working with a pace that you want your guide will raise your expectations of what backcountry touring is. With Mt Yoichi on our door step we can move into the Alpine for longer vertical to valley floor runs. Guide Bookings Confirmation & Payment Cancellation Policy

Please note that Guide bookings are NOT CONFIRMED until a 20% deposit has been paid. Final balance is due 30 days prior to the start of your booking.

You must complete our booking form and Registration/Waiver from before your guided day. Failure to do so will result in the cancelation of your booking.

Guide Bookings Cancellation Policy

Your 20% deposit is non-refundable unless we cancel the guided day due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather or guide injury.

Whiteroom Guides will refund your full payment less the 20% deposit if notice is given 30 days prior to your booking date commencement.

Whiteroom Guides will refund 50% of your full payment if less than 30 days but more than 7 days notice of cancellation is given.

Whiteroom Guides will provide no refund for cancellations less than 7 days prior or a no show on your booked day.

If Whiteroom Guides has to cancel your guided day due to adverse weather or other unforeseen circumstances you will be offered another date or a 100% refund.

Backcountry Safety Equipment Requirements

Backcountry safety equipment is compulsory for all participants on any guided day. All of the necessary equipment (transceiver, shovel, probe and backpack) is available to hire. Please advise us if you need this equipment when booking. You may also bring your own gear to use.

If your Backcountry trip requires Alpine Touring equipment, split boards or snowshoes we will advise & recommend where the equipment can be rented from if you do not already have your own.

Pre Purchasing Lift Tickets

For day trips we recommend against purchasing lift tickets in advance, as there are no additional cost savings. Pre-purchasing lift tickets may only serve to limit your flexibility. Due to localized weather patterns, conditions can often be much different at nearby resorts & may influence the final destination decision.

Ski / Snowboard Ability Requirements

We recommend that you try to have everyone in the group at a similar ability level.

This is very important as experience shows that no one wants to be in over their head, holding up a group or alternatively waiting for others to make it down the mountain.

However, if you are all happy with a mixed ability group because you are all friends or family members then that is of-course fine with us.

Ski / Snowboard Instruction

Many of our Whiteroom Guides are also qualified instructors but the format of our trips is to ensure you ski great lines, great snow and incredible terrain. All our Guides are happy to offer advice and tips to help you improve your skills, but except for our Powder Progression Tour http://www.whiteroomtours.com/guided-tours/niseko-progression-tour/ we do not offer straight ski or snowboard lessons.

If you are interested specifically in instruction to improve your skills we can recommend booking a ski lesson with some exceptional instructional schools in your area.
